Choosing a beauty or esthetician school is a huge decision—and unfortunately, many aspiring estheticians regret their choice because they weren’t given the full picture.

They didn’t know what to ask. They confused a licensed school with an accredited one. They thought a cute Instagram feed meant good education. And now, they’re licensed… but lost.

At Dolly Monroe Beauty Academy, we’re here to make sure that doesn’t happen to you.

🚫 The 3 Biggest Mistakes to Avoid When Choosing an Esthetician School

1. Choosing a School Based on Aesthetics, Not OutcomesA school may have a flawless IG feed—but that doesn’t mean they’ll help you get hired or launch your business. Look deeper.

2. Picking the Cheapest Program Without Considering ValueTuition is important, but value is everything. Does the program include job placement? Business training? Real support?

3. Not Asking the Right QuestionsBefore you sign anything, ask:

• Are you licensed and accredited?

• Do you help students after graduation?

• Is the program full-time, part-time, or hybrid?

🚩 Red Flags You Shouldn’t Ignore

• No clear post-grad support

• Pressure to enroll same-day

• Vague answers about results

• Zero mention of career outcomes

If a school can’t clearly explain what happens after you graduate, they’re not invested in your success.

🎓 What Accreditation Actually Means

Many schools are licensed—but not accredited. Here’s the difference:

📍 Licensed = meets basic state standards🏛️ Accredited = meets national education and career-readiness standards

Accreditation matters if you want:

• Financial aid access

• Advanced certifications

• Clinical or medical esthetics pathways

🧪 Why Hybrid Training Works

At Dolly Monroe, our hybrid model lets you:

• Complete your theory training online, on your schedule

• Attend hands-on campus sessions for practical skills

• Get support from real educators and mentors

• Graduate in 2–5 months with flexible payment options

Our model is fast-track, real-world, and actually designed for working women and parents—not just full-time students.

🔑 How to Know If You’re Really Ready

Spoiler: You don’t need to feel “ready.”You just need a support system that meets you where you are.

If you:✔️ Feel unfulfilled in your current job✔️ Want to launch a beauty career but don’t know how✔️ Need a flexible, licensed, and accredited program

…you’re more ready than you think.
